2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Series 51

Bentley now offers the Series 51 design options – 14 in total – on the Continental Flying Spur and Speed. These range from duo-tone exterior paint options to new interior color and trim combinations. Also, all Continental Flying Spur and Supersports models are specified as standard with a “state-of-the-art” 30GB touchscreen infotainment system.

The paint range “encompasses cool and crisp hues through to rich and fiery shades and everything in between”, based on which additional three interior colors are selected to create a visual equilibrium between the exterior and the cabin. Also gets unique nine-spoke 19-inch alloys, finished in a cool graphite tone, complemented by Series 51 wing badges, positioned behind the front wheel arches. If that’s still not enough, customers can specify their cars with blue brake calipers and black or chrome wing vents as well.

Bentley suitable choice among the 14 available options of the Series 51, Bentley will be more than happy to create a new, bespoke one. This models are equipped with a new touchscreen infotainment system, with 30GB of capacity. The GPS uses “dynamic navigation” to avoid heavy traffic spots and can locate destinations by using geo-tagged photos from an SD card.

In addition the six-disc CD changer, music can be played directly from an iPod, SD card and the hard drive, which can store up to 15GB of music.

Continental Flying Spur Speed Series 51’s exterior get duo-tone means that, beside the main color applied to the body, there’s also an accent color that runs from the bonnet to the boot lid.

With its power output raised by 15PS and torque by 50 Nm – to 575PS (567bhp/423kW) and 700Nm (516lb ft) – the result is a 6 percent improvement in the new GT’s power-to weight-ratio, making it capable of accelerating from zero to 60mph in just 4.4 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds) with a top speed of 198mph (318km/h).

The GT coupe’s new look is bolder than ever. The classic Bentley matrix radiator grille is more upright, while the new headlamp design, in traditional four-lamp format, has exquisite jewel-like detailing including eye-catching, LED daylight-running lamps.

2010 Bentley Mulsanne – Color Custom

Good news for Bentley lovers, the four-door flagship model will be available in 115 ’standard colours’ and Bentley says that any colour or shade can be applied to the Mulsanne according to customer desires. Prices for the Bentley Mulsanne will start at £220,000 and it will be available to buy later this year.

The first step, before the painting process begins, Bentley takes the bare metal Mulsanne body shell and dips it into several different tanks, each of which provides the body shell with a specific treatment such as de-greasing, cleaning, conditioning, rinsing and application of a phosphate layer.

The Mulsanne is then lowered into an electro-coating tank, in which the charged metal bodywork attracts particles-in-solution that forms into a hard protective shell of rust-proof zinc primer. A two-coat primer is then applied by hand, likewise for the basecoat. Bentley states that using a robot to paint the primer and topcoat of the Mulsanne would achieve inferior results in comparison to applying the coats by hand. Despite this, mechanical robots are used towards the end of the process to spray the lacquer onto the Mulsanne.
